Our flagship product, Waba MIM (Medical Image Management), was the first purpose-built solution of its kind for the medical marketplace. Alongside this, we created JMS (Job Management System)—both designed from the ground up to streamline workflows in clinical environments.

We've been using Waba’s Medical Image Manager (MIM) and Job Management System (JMS) here in the Medical Illustration Service at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since 2013, and both have become an essential part of how our service runs day to day.

Over the years, we’ve worked closely with Waba to tailor the systems to fit our changing needs, and they’ve been responsive and open to adapting the software to fit the way we work — which is not something I am used to with other IT systems.

The job management system allows us to schedule and manage photography bookings across our main LTHT sites, and track all design, photography and video jobs from initial request through booking, production, delivery, and billing.

It helps us stay organised, has improved turnaround times, and keeps everyone in the loop day to day.

MIM itself is a clinical (and non-clinical) image database that’s central to how we store and deliver our images. It’s secure, manages access and has scaled well with our growing archive.

I think overall for a niche profession you’d struggle to find a more adaptable system for managing and delivering images in a healthcare environment.

WABA have been a great team to work with — always approachable, quick to respond, and genuinely interested in making sure the systems work for us. We’re looking forward to continuing the collaboration (and probably asking for a few more tweaks along the way!).

How much is the Waba Mobile App?

How do I prepare for a server upgrade?

The starting point for your server migration is: The Trust will need to decide on how you want the server structure to look. So, Where should the application go? Where is the database going to be? What is the location of the image store?

This could all be on one new server or spread across several, this is for the Trust to decide!

A typical set-up would look like:

Live application server for MIM.
Test application server for MIM.
SQL server (Live and test)
Image store - one location or several

Can our MIM be integrated with other applications within the Trust?

Yes, we have integrated Waba MIM with various hospital Applications, which include Clinical Portals, EPR, Order comm’s, Ophthalmology, PAS/HL7, various 3d systems, pathology and colposcopy etc. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Can MIM store and playback video?

Can MIM be managed in the cloud?

From our point of view, it doesn't really matter if your servers are virtual or on the cloud, just as long as they meet the required spec.
